Modernised in 2024 and now seems to appeal more to a younger clientele. That said, they did serve a decent pint of Bowness Bay Best although I don't recall there being much choice (I only remember seeing keg Tiny Rebel Cosmic Pale as a possible alternative). There are other nearby places in Ilkley not listed on this site (e.g. Flying Duck, Ilkley Tap, Fuggle & Golding) that we preferred.

We enjoyed it in 2013 and did so again last week visiting on a couple of occasions during our stay in Giggleswick. Ilkley's Joshua Jane (the cheapest pint at £4.40), TT Boltmaker (the most expensive at £4.95), Dark Horse Hetton Pale, Kirkstall Blonde, Pennine's IPA and Craven's Dark Cherry were the 6 handpulls on during our first visit but some of those had changed by the time we went back on Tuesday evening to see the Black Horse Jazzmen. Every pint I tried was in very good condition and it was nice to be able to sit in the rear beer garden this time.

Under new management since 2023 and the 2 ales last night were Wye Valley Butty Bach and HPA (the latter was in good condition and cost £5 a pint). We went for the Indian options rather than the traditional dishes on the menu but we were really there to see the "Texan Peacocks" perform a great set to a packed crowd.
